Overview
What We Deliver in Drone & UAV Mapping
TANGIS operates a professional drone survey capability using enterprise-grade multi-rotor and fixed-wing UAV platforms equipped with RGB, multispectral, thermal, and LiDAR payloads. Our Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA)-approved operators deliver survey campaigns across Tanzania — from mine site volumetric surveys and infrastructure corridor mapping to agricultural field analysis and construction progress monitoring.
Industries Served
Challenges We Solve
Survey Access & Safety
Traditional survey methods expose personnel to hazardous environments — active mine sites, steep terrain, and conflict-affected areas.
Speed & Scale
Ground surveys of large areas take months. UAV platforms can cover hundreds of hectares per day, dramatically accelerating project timelines.
Data Resolution
Satellite imagery cannot achieve the sub-10cm resolution required for engineering design, volumetric calculation, or detailed infrastructure inspection.
Cost of Aerial Surveys
Traditional manned aerial surveys are prohibitively expensive for most East African project budgets. UAV mapping delivers equivalent accuracy at a fraction of the cost.
Our Approach
How We Deliver Drone Mapping
Flight Planning & TCAA Approval
We design the mission parameters — flight altitude, overlap, GCP layout — and obtain all required TCAA airspace approvals before mobilisation.
Ground Control Network
We establish and measure a network of Ground Control Points (GCPs) using GNSS RTK to provide the absolute accuracy reference for the photogrammetric model.
UAV Data Acquisition
We execute the flight mission using enterprise UAV platforms with appropriate sensors (RGB, multispectral, thermal, or LiDAR), collecting overlapping imagery at the specified parameters.
Photogrammetric Processing
We process collected imagery using Agisoft Metashape or Pix4D to generate orthomosaics, dense point clouds, and digital surface/terrain models.
Quality Control & Delivery
All products undergo accuracy verification against independent check points before delivery in GIS-ready formats (GeoTIFF, LAS, SHP, DXF).
